One of the first things you should consider during the forklift sales process is the weight capacity you require. In other words, how much weight do you need your new forklift to be able to handle? In general, the higher the weight capacity, the higher the price tag, so be prepared for that and factor it into your equipment budget.
Another key factor to keep in mind when browsing your options in forklift sales is the type of engine you need. Which type of engine you need depends on several factors, such as the type of goods you will be moving and the type of facility you have. For example, if you need a forklift to move food products or pharmaceuticals, you should get an electric forklift, as the fumes from a petroleum engine would negatively affect the products. Similarly, you’ll also need an electric lift if your facility is located underground, as a gas engine would negatively affect the air quality in such an enclosed space.
Lastly, you will also need to think about the type of tires your forklift will need. If you plan to operate your lift exclusively indoors, then cushion tires are a good choice since they have a tighter turn radius and tend to be cheaper as well. On the other hand, if you will be using your forklift primarily outdoors, then we recommend choosing solid pneumatic tires instead.
